In a world where standing out is difficult, we feel obliged to commend Thermaltake and G.Skill for trying something different, overly crazy and a small part of us actually thinks they look good and when paired with a motherboard with an equally crazy heatpipe array, the two complement each other.

After all, take your pick of many performance motherboards from either MSI (CircuPipe), Gigabyte (DQ6 or Extreme), DFI (Transpiper), Asus (RoG) or Foxconn (Quantum Force) and you'll find just as crazy orange heatpipes and fins.

We expect a fair number of people will look at these and simply wish the design was more elegant. However given very little space to play with at least Thermaltake and G.SKill has done something different than just a.n.other ambiguous heatspreader with fins.

If you do hate them with a passion, but still want to buy some GT1s - just take out the heatpipe and be done with it, or, find another metal rod with the same diameter as the heatpipe and it opens itself up for some serious mod potential!

The 50mm fan can't be changed easily, but at least the Molex is a passthrough connector and it's power cable very nicely sleeved.

Side by side with the fins and fan at the same end the RamOrbs need one DIMM slot apart, but at alternate ends they can comfortably fit next to each other.
